Visit Naples - Ancient City Area

We will start our tour from the waterfront and head towards the famous Piazza dei Martiri and the Chiaia area. We will then enter the labyrinth of narrow streets and stairways of the Spanish quarter to visit the small square dedicated to Maradona and other famous Neapolitan artists. We will then stroll along Via Toledo in order to reach Piazza Dante and the ancient city area. Here we will see the remains of the ancient Greek city wall and the Decumanus Maximus, along which we will visit the famous church of San Lorenzo. We will then head towards the Cathedral of Naples and on our way back to the old town, we will stroll along the famous San Gregorio Armeno street to visit the workshops where nativity scenes are created. A walk along the famous Spaccanapoli street will take us to the beautiful San Domenico square where we will conclude our tour.

We will start our tour with a stroll along the seafront and then visit the area around the famous Piazza del Plebiscito where the Royal Palace and the San Francesco di Paola church are located. After a visit of the Galleria Umberto I, we will move on to the San Carlo theater and the Angevine Castle where we will stop to admire its beautiful marble arch. We will then head towards the Municipio square, at the centre of which is a marble fountain depicting Neptune, and move on to the ancient area of the city where we will visit the Santa Chiara church and the Gesu Nuovo church which are located along Spaccanapoli, the famous street which seems to split the ancient city in two. We will start our tour from the Marina gate and visit the thermal bath complex outside the city wall. We will then head towards the Forum, the main square of the ancient city. After the visit of a few buildings surrounding the square, we will visit the theaters and a beautiful house, to see mosaics and frescoes. We will then stroll along the main streets where shops, thermal baths and houses are located. We will then head towards the exit to conclude our tour at Piazza Esedra.
